Excert from my reflection on last semester's blog project
Reflection on Blogging Project
This semester I’ve been assigned to do an interesting project - to set up a blog written in English. The theme of it is not designated, I was only asked to first write a proposal and stick to it while I’m posting in the future. What appeals to me most is that I’m allowed to decide my own topic for the blog, because inspiration comes to me very “randomly,” when I’m writing something relevant to my life or interest, I’m able to come up with lots of ideas; on the other hand, I often have difficulty even think of a draft when a subject that is too general or vague is assigned to me.
During the process of this project, I’ve discovered that I’m actually good at making up stories. For instance while posting a review of a film I’ve watched, though I indeed love that film, I find it hard to convince my audiences to watch it too by simply saying “I like the film so much” or “It’s awesome!!” Instead I’d use very descriptive words to introduce the plot or the funny parts in a film. It seems that I’m writing something not genuine, yet they’re truly my opinions.
So far, I’m rather satisfied with what I’ve done with the blog. Not only does serve as an avenue for me to express my thoughts, but it also helps me to sharpen my writing skills. And I’m glad I’ve chosen a topic which is already part of my life, so that I could share with other people some of my favourite issues. However if there’s the chance to have another project similar to this, though I do love films, I’d want to write something more unique and creative because there are already too many blogs on the Internet that revolve around the same topic as mine. Even my friends would sometimes post their own film reviews on their blogs. As one of my posts indicates, I may want to share some information about queer hotspots in the local areas, such as featured shops, gay bars, special events taking place in Kaohsiung or Tainan and details like price and environment/experience. I’m believe it’s be a lot of fun and it could provide foreign visitors useful guidance to these mysterious yet attractive sites.
Well, wait and see!!

First of all, I am really appreaciate your courage as bring up the gay bar in this project. Honestly, I have always wanted to go visit one of gay bars around Taiwan region. Unfortunately I couldn't take a "self" experience since I have to be home before ten at night. But I am really looking forward to have a "visual" trip to those gay bars and etc.
